SHOWTIME DANCE

SHOWTIME DANCE is based on an open competition system. All amateurs and professionals can participate in the competition, e.g. dance clubs, dance studios, art schools, leisure centers, schools, individual dancers, etc. even without club or union membership. Anyone who accepts these competition rules can participate in the competition. The SHOWTIME DANCE competition is of a progressive character. The individual rounds proceed as follows:

Dancers from countries other than Slovakia can participate in any qualification, including regional qualifications in Slovakia or ONLINE qualifications, which will allow them to advance directly to the EUROPEAN FINALS.

If a choreography has reached the minimum limit and more points published, he will automatically be nominated for the next round.

REGIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

GRAND FINAL

EUROPEAN FINALS

REGIONAL QUALIFICATIONS are the qualifying rounds for the GRAND FINALS. Subsequently, GRAND FINALS is organized, which is a qualifying competition for the EUROPEAN FINALS. Competitors qualify for the next round by the number of points earned for a particular performance. The organizer shall publish and announce the limit of points to be reached for the next round only after all rounds of that round have been completed. If a choreography has reached the minimum limit and more points published, he will automatically be nominated for the next round.

 

The registration to SHOWTIME DANCE competition is only possible online via the website www.showtime-dance.sk. The applicant is obliged to register. Within his registered account he / she can log in and manage his / her dance clubs, dancers, dance performances, registration into a competition and billing.

The closing date for entries is the date set in the competition details.

In order to increase the attractiveness of the competition, the organizer can combine similar dance categories. The combination of categories is preferred mainly in the performance category “A”, but does not exclude the performance category “B”.

The age category is determined on the basis of the age reached on 1 January of the year.

In the Solo category, competitors may only participate in the prescribed age category.

In the Duo / Trio category, the age of the older dancer is taken into account.

In the Group, Formation and Production categories, the age of the oldest dancer is taken into account.
The exception may be 1 dancer in case of the Group, 2 dancers in case of Formation and 3-4 dancers in case of Production who are no more than one year older than the age category. This exception must be requested in writing (by e-mail).

Generation age category includes competitors who have 3 or more age groups and it is not possible to apply any of the abovementioned exceptions.

Class “A”:

This includes dancers who have been dancing for many years, implying a higher quality level. Those competitors who have already participated in several domestic or foreign competitions must be classified in category “A”.

Class “B”:

This includes dancers who are beginners and with a lower quality level.

The jury has the right to reassign the competitors between categories “A” and “B” on the basis of the competition performance and the scoring achieved.

Each dancer competes at his own risk, dancers under 18 years of responsibility of

parents and a dance coach.

Presentation: runs all day, it is important to be ready for the competition in time according to the schedule of the specific competition.

Each club receives an envelope containing information about the competition, dancers ‘entrances, coachs’ entrants, and, for a larger number of dancers, 1 additional entrance for every 15 dancers.

Tickets: can be purchased at the entrance, entry to the sports hall is only possible with a valid ticket.

Proceeding of competition: The dancer is obliged to appear at the stage at least 5 performances before the scheduled performance and is also obliged to have at disposal the sound recording on USB. We recommend that you keep a copy of your recordings in case of need.

The schedule of performances is indicative and it is necessary to be ready to compete at least 30 minutes before the scheduled performance according to the schedule.

The competitor is obliged to enter the stage within 5 seconds of his/her introduction by the competition leader.

Acrobatics: Defined when the body does not touch the ground. (flip, Flik Flak, free loops …), except jumps and lifting elements. Hand loops are not defined as acrobatics.

Warning!

Lifts (elements where the dancer is raised from the ground by other dancers) in performance category B in the MINI and CHILDREN categories are prohibited !!

We appeal to choreographers to observe the moral boundaries of socially acceptable rules in relation to the age of the dancers.

For example vulgar words (in a foreign language) in music in the mini and children’s age categories, inappropriate and challenging costume considering the age category, etc.

Music: Based on an e-mail request, the group leaders are obliged to send a music recording in advance by the specified date. At the same time, he is obliged to carry an audio recording on a USB with the name of dance group. The dance coach is responsible for the accompanying music. The presence of the dance coach of the group is obligatory for the DJ‘s. We recommend that you keep a copy of your recordings in case of need.

Dance floor: Dance floor is at least 10 x 10 m, ballet carpet (balletizol). It is forbidden to stay in front of the stage during the competition.

Scenery, props: The use of scenery, props and backdrops are individually determined in the dance categories on the website in the Dance Styles section. The leader of the dance group is responsible for ensuring that they do not endanger the safety of the competitors and must be secured so as not to damage the balletizol.

Accessories, tools: : Accessories are defined as a part of the costume or a mini prop (e.g. book, victorian walking stick, hat, scarf, etc.)

Awards: First three places cups or medals, diplomas in each age category.

For the award ceremony it is necessary to appear in a competition – choreographic costume.

A competition performance can only be judged if at least 50% of the competition production is performed. In exceptional cases, based on the decision of the competition chairman, re-competition is possible.

Judges: qualified judges in each dance style (3-5 persons).

Ranking and placement:

The rank is determined on the basis of the judges’ point evaluation and the rank determined by them. Ranking point system. The choreography with the lowest sum of ranks wins first place. If there is an equal sum of ranks, the absolute sum of points will determine the final rank.

If it is not possible to determine the ranking in the category, the ranking is awarded on the basis of the points achieved, which also determines the nomination for the next round.

“A” category:

Gold placement of 74 or more points

Silver placement 65 – 73.9 points

Bronze placement below 64.9

“B” category:

Small gold placement over 64 points

Small silver placement 55 – 63.9 points

Small bronze placement up to 54.9 points

Disqualification

The jury proposes to disqualify the competitor if:

– performance cannot be judged, because less than 50% of the choreography was performed

– the competitor does not show up for the performance according to the schedule

– Other exceptional cases

Disqualifications are decided by the competition chairman.

The condition for participation in the competition is the payment of the entry fee in terms of the competition propositions. The entry fee is considered to be completed when credited to the organizer’s bank account. When paying the entry fee, it is necessary to use the variable symbol, which was assigned within the payment order in the part of payment of the online registration.

If the entry fee is not paid by the deadline, the organizer reserves the right to exclude the competitor from the competition.

In the event of a cancellation before the closing date for entries, the rules in competition details apply. It is not possible to claim a refund of the entry fee after the closing date for entries. In the event that a competitor fails to appear at the scheduled time for his performance, he is not entitled to a refund of the entry fee.

WINTERSHOW is based on an open competition system. Everyone can participate in the competition, e.g. dance clubs, dance studios, art schools, leisure centers, schools, individual dancers, etc. Anyone who accepts these competition rules can participate in the competition.

WINTERSHOW is a single round competition and is subject to the same rules as the SHOWTIME DANCE.
